The Basic Food, Employment & Training ( BFET) service provides funding assistance with education, work training, and related support services at Green River College to eligible individual currently receiving federal Basic Food Benefits (SNAP/ "food stamps")
BFET Serivce
- Tuition and Fees
- Required Textbooks & Tools
- Support in Navigating DSHS, college processes and services
- Assisting with addressing barriers to academic or personal success
- Childcare referrals to Working Connections Childcare (DCYF)
- Referals to College and Community Resources
Requirement
- Are receiving federal Basic Food Assistance from DSHS.
- Do not receive TANF cash assistance from DSHS. (If you received TANF, check out our WorkFirst program instead.)
- BFET is a job training program, because of this you must have the ability to work ( this does not mean that BFET program will require you to work while you are enrolled in classes).
- Must apply for FAFSA/WASFA to be eligibile for BFET. Exceptions: Student pursuing ELL,GED, High School 21+ or High School Diploma do not need to complete the FAFSA/WASFA to be considered for BFET.
