What is the Student Remote Desktop?

Green River has deployed virtual desktops running some of the applications that students use on campus.  These include Adobe Acrobat, MS Office and Papercut (printing points). You can access these from anywhere you have an internet connection on your own device (PC, Mac, tablet, smartphone, etc.). In addition, these virtual desktops provide access to the S & T network drives.

Since virtual desktops do not provide an optimal video viewing experience, we recommend watching videos directly on your device rather than on the virtual desktop.

How Do I Access the Student Remote Desktop?

  1. Go to Student Remote Desktop
  2. Login using your student email and password (see Student Email Help if you need to look up your email or change your password).
  3. Click the “Student Desktop” icon to launch the application
  4. Microsoft Office is installed locally on the virtual desktop, but each time you access a new virtual desktop, you will be prompted to activate Office using your Green River student e-mail account. When prompted, click the “Sign In” option, then enter your student email address and password. If necessary, when prompted, please select the “Work or School account” option.
