About the Violence Prevention and Support Program

The Center for Transformational Wellness envisions a college community where everyone has the skills to take action to prevent future violence in our community and everyone who has experienced Interpersonal Violence (IPV) receives trauma-informed support.

Survivor Support

The CTW welcomes all students, faculty, and staff that have experienced IPV. We believe that victims/survivors bring unique and valuable perspectives, and that there are many barriers that victims/survivors experience. In the Violence Prevention and Support Program victims/survivors can access confidential and free advocacy, receive support in navigating college systems.

Prevention

Every person who works or studies at Green River College has a role to play in preventing IPV in our college community. To ensure that everyone who works and studies at GRC has the skills and tools necessary to prevent violence there are several IPV Prevention activities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in at GRC.

  • Gators CARE Committee - A multidisciplinary team, building culturally relevant and trauma-informed skills and practices in our communities to cultivate environments free of interpersonal violence.
  • Peer Educators - Students who provide prevention training to other students.

Sexual Assault Policy

Green River College's policy, GA-11 Sex Discrimination Grievance Procedure, can be found on the Green River website.
