Veterans & Military-Connected Student Support

We welcome and support current and former service members and their family members during their time as Green River College students as they are an integral part of the Gator community. We are committed to helping them to succeed and achieve their academic and career goals.

Veteran Services serves as a resource for all veterans and military-connected students by providing support and referrals throughout campus and our community. Our VA Certifying Officials provide individualized support to help each student receive the educational benefits they are entitled to. Through the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) grant from the US Department of Education, we have a specialized Educational Planner available to support all veterans and military-connected students to navigate their educational and career pathway options from start to finish. We also have a dedicated Veteran Transition Coordinator available to connect students to opportunities and resources on and off campus as well as other direct support to help overcome barriers to success.

Military population on Green River College campuses:

• Veterans
• Active-Duty
• National Guard
• Reservists
• Spouse/Child of a veteran/service member

Some of the services offered include:

• Priority registration for veterans, active-duty service members, reserve and National Guard members, and eligible spouse/child of a veteran or uniformed service member using VA educational benefits and/or receiving a military/veteran tuition waiver
• Help accessing and understanding VA benefits including the GI Bill®
• Academic advising with our Educational Planner regardless of VA benefit usage
• Use of the CEVSS Veterans' Lounge
• Referrals for disability resources, mental health & wellness counseling, and community resources
• Military Transcript Evaluation
