What is one thing you wish you knew about college before you started as a student?
Strongly consider the total cost of attendance in relation to your future projected earnings. Just because you are accepted somewhere does not mean you have to attend! Weigh your options and trust your intuition.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I enjoy baking (banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, and snacking cakes currently on rotation), travelling, listening to podcasts and KUOW, and spending time with my two children.

About Emily:
I am a first-generation college student (undergraduate and graduate-level). I am passionate in breaking down the many barriers students face when attending college, such as determining financial aid options, accessing basic resources, and learning about programs of study. I started working at GRC in 2019 as a Program Coordinator in the Testing Center and joined Career & Advising in 2021 to further my mission in helping prospective students enroll in their first quarter of classes, and access support services. For example, did you know you can loan a laptop and other technology? Receive help paying for childcare? Access free licensed mental health counseling? No matter where you are in life, we at GRC are here to partner with you in reaching your educational and professional goals.
