Education is not just about teaching; it is also about nurturing. Why is Green River College considered the best community college in the United States? It is not only because it provides excellent education but also because it is a place where individuals can grow into outstanding people. GRC has the best advisors, professors, and staff. They treat students like family, wholeheartedly supporting our growth and dedicating themselves to helping us become knowledgeable individuals who take action.
In 2017, I started at Green River College’s Intensive English Program at Level 1, and I successfully transferred to UC Berkeley, the No.1 public university in the world according to Forbes. Such a remarkable achievement was not solely my own - it was made possible by the incredible guidance of advisors, professors, and staff like Andrew Turgeon, Patrick Mumpower, Emily Paget, Tim McDaniel, Susan Batchelor, and Ann DeHeide. They gave me not just education, but invaluable life lessons.
Life is ultimately a choice between the difficult but right path and the easy but wrong one. We must never forget that in life, going far is more important than merely going high.
People sometimes find the truth burdensome, hope overwhelming, communication bothersome, and hesitate when given freedom. However, we are students, alumni, and members of GRC. With our love and passion, we will overcome all challenges and contribute to our local community, and furthermore, to the prosperity of humanity.
We may not always be happy in life, but we will strive to create more moments of happiness. We will always respect and love one another. No matter where we are in the world, we are connected, and the Green River College family will shine brighter than anyone, everywhere.
