On his way to a SaaStr conference in the Bay Area, Michael Han aka Bing and his colleague made a stop at Green River College to meet up with old friends. Han is from China and attended Green River College back in 2010. He is also one of our outstanding alumni. In 2015, he was listed in the China List of 30 Rising Stars of Entrepreneurism. See Forbes 30 under 30. Now he invests in software companies. He knows first-hand what it is like to be an entrepreneur, and that experience has made him quite successful.
According to Medium.com, “Michael Han is a partner in the VC firm inCapital. His team made angel investments in dozens of startups over the past two years with multiple on-invested capitals exceeding 800%, and 80% of their portfolio raised further funding within six months.”
Despite all his success, Han is a very down to earth and personable. He took the time to visit Green River College. “This is where I got my first paid job in the US,” said Han, who was hired by Ross Jennings as a Student Marketing Assistant. Once a Gator always a Gator.
When asked what he liked most about Green River College, he said, “The culture of International Programs is very friendly and welcoming. The class sizes are small, and everybody knows everybody. I tell my friends whose children are interested in studying the USA to go to Green River College. Going to a big university first can be a culture shock and very overwhelming. Also, the tuition is cheaper than a 4-year university.”
Han graduated from Green River College in 2010 and transferred to the University Washington where he majored in Economics. The rest is history!
