IN-1 Visitors in the Classroom
Purpose
There are many variables and circumstances which could put children and non-students
at risk, thereby creating possible liability for the college. In addition, it is unfair
to other students in the class for children to be present due to the possibility of
disruption or the need to censor academic materials.
Scope
Includes children, visitors and non-students.
Definitions
Children: Any person who is 15 years old and younger.
Non-student (visitor): Any person who is not currently enrolled in that GRC course and does not have the permission of an administrator to visit the class.
Policy and/or Procedure
Visitors (children and non-students) are not allowed in classrooms unless they are
enrolled participants in the class and meet all Green River College admissions requirements
or have permission in advance from an administrator to visit that class. Children
that are on campus for other than educational purposes need to be under parent supervision
at all times
