Student Employment Supervisors

The Student Employment Program serves students, faculty, and staff by providing employment opportunities for Green River College students.

Supervisors are responsible for student worker(s) for the duration of employment, per start and end dates indicated on the student’s Employment Authorization form. Supervisory roles further require understanding and following student employment program guidelines and hiring process; this includes creating a job description, advertising the position on Handshake, conducting interviews, submitting complete employment authorization form and job application materials, and approving timesheets following the payroll schedule.

Institutional Work Grant Employment Authorization forms must be signed by all parties, including  Dean of Student Life or appropriate budget authority. Work Study forms are initiated by the Student Employment Specialist by request, after a job offer has been accepted.

Supervisors are required to complete Student Employment Supervisor Training annually – prior to hiring student workers through the Student Employment Program.

Supervisors must wait for work approval from the student employment specialist before allowing student to begin working. This email confirms hiring paperwork has been completed. The students start date will be agreed upon after hiring paper is complete.
