My name is Milou Tromp, and I am from the Netherlands. I majored in Criminal Justice at Green River College (GRC) and transferred to Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 2017 to study Dutch Law (BA). For my master's, I transferred to Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands in 2022 to study Liability law and Insurance law. I graduated in 2023.

Q. Share a bit about yourself and what you have been up to since you left Green River.

Studying at GRC has taught me a lot. It helped me grow as a person and showed me what I wanted to focus on once I moved back to the Netherlands. I have enjoyed my student life and the opportunities I got since graduating from GRC to the fullest. To name a couple: I have been a member of several committees, I interned abroad, met amazing people from all over the world, and so much more!

Q. How did your education at Green River College prepare you to transfer to a top graduate school?

I used my time and classes at GRC to figure out what I am passionate about and what I wanted to study. This was possible because of the many classes and majors you can choose from. Graduating at GRC also made it possible for me to transfer to the university I wanted to go to.

Q. What kind of advice would you give a GRC student who dreams of getting into a top university?

Take the time to figure out what you’re passionate about. Once you have found that, set a goal and focus on that, but don’t forget to enjoy your time at GRC and all GRC has to offer. There are so many great people at GRC who want to help you succeed, so ask for help when you need it.

Q. Please share anything else you would like to add.

My time at GRC is one of my fondest memories. I met some of my best friends there, and even though we live on opposite sides of the world, we are still very close. I wish that for everyone <3.
