Faculty and Staff Parking

Spaces are reserved for employees of Green River College with a valid permit. Student employees are not eligible to purchase a staff/faculty permit. To qualify for staff parking, a vehicle must have a visible valid quarterly or annual staff/faculty permit. Permits can be purchased through Campus Safety.

Obtain a Permit

Campus Safety issues all staff/faculty parking permits. Staff and faculty may purchase a parking pass for $20 per quarter. Additional passes are $3 each.

Three options exist to obtain a staff/faculty permit. Not every employee qualifies for each option, though. The descriptions below outline the regulations for each option.

Pre-Tax Parking Fee Deduction Program

IRS rules allow the fee for the parking pass to be withheld through a prorated payroll deduction before federal taxes are withheld. This program is available to:

Faculty; Classified Staff; Administrator; Professional Staff; Adjunct Faculty (quarterly pass only)

The employee must complete the Pre-Tax Parking Fee Deduction Program enrollment form at Campus Safety. A pass will be issued to the employee upon enrollment in the program.

Quarterly Passes

Quarterly passes may be purchased at the Cashier's Office for a one-time fee of $20. Any staff or faculty member who wishes to purchase a staff/faculty parking permit, and who does not qualify for the Pre-Tax Parking Fee Deduction Program, must purchase a pass from the Cashier's Office. Once purchased, bring a copy of the receipt to Campus Safety to be issued a Quarterly Parking Pass.

Carpool Deduction Waiver

Employees who use alternative means to campus three or more days per week are eligible for the Carpool Deduction Waiver. This option allows an employee to obtain a parking pass cost-free, Only Quarterly parking permits may be issued with a Carpool Deduction Waiver.

The employee must complete the Carpool Deduction Waiver at Campus Safety. A pass will be issued to the employee once complete.

Locations

Parking for staff members with a valid permit is reserved throughout campus. Spaces designated by a green curb with signs on either end of the row are reserved as staff parking spaces.

Most spaces are reserved from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., although some spaces are reserved 24-hours a day. Signs on either end of the parking row will indicate time limits on the space's staff designation.
