The application for the Spring 2025 Part-Time Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program is available now through 4 PM on January 15, 2025. To apply, complete the linked application form in its entirety.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Accessing the application form requires logging in with your Green River student email. If you don’t yet have a student email, you’ll need to first apply to the college. Start your Green River application here. Once processed, you’ll be issued a student email address. If you applied to Green River prior to April 1, 2024, you will need to reapply in order to receive a student email.

Program Timelines and Application Cycles

  • Full-Time LPN Program

    • Application Cycle: April 15th – 4 pm on June 1st
    • Program Duration: Fall to Spring
  • Part-Time LPN Program

    • Application Cycle: December 1st – 4 pm on January 15th
    • Program Duration: Spring to Summer (next year)

Below is a list of the application requirements to help guide you through the process.


Application Requirements

  1. Complete All Prerequisite Coursework
    Each course must be completed with a minimum grade of 2.5 or higher, and an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for all prerequisite courses. Our admissions process awards points for completed prerequisites, and those in progress cannot be granted points. This means that your application may be considered less competitive compared to candidates who have completed all their prerequisites by the time of application submission.

Required Prerequisite Courses

  • BIO& 160 or BIO& 211: General Biology with Lab or Majors Cellular (5 credits)
  • BIO& 241: Anatomy & Physiology I (5 credits)
  • BIO& 242: Anatomy & Physiology II (5 credits)
  • CMST& 101, 210, 220, 230, or 240: Communication Studies (5 credits)
  • ENGL& 101: English Composition (5 credits)
  • MATH& 146 or MATH 256: Introduction to Statistics or Statistics for Business and Social Science (5 credits)
  • NUTR& 101: Nutrition (5 credits)
  • PSYC& 100: General Psychology (5 credits)
  • PSYC& 200: Lifespan Psychology (5 credits)
  • Transfer Courses: Courses completed at another institution must be from a regionally accredited institution and equivalent in content to those offered at Green River College. Courses part of a technical program (e.g., NAC, MA, Surgical-Tech) are not eligible.

  1. Apply to Green River College

    • Complete an application for Green River College and obtain a student ID number.
  2. Submit Official Transcripts

    • Have official transcripts sent to Green River College from all colleges you have attended. Complete the Transcript Evaluation Request as part of the process.

  3. Obtain Required Certifications and Documentation

    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Card: Only AHA BLS certifications are accepted for clinical placements. Visit the AHA Basic Life Support Training Page to locate a class near you.
  4. Complete Immunization Requirements

    • Immunizations and Tests:
      • Two-step TB Test
      • Influenza
      • Hepatitis B
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
      • Varicella
      • Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap)
      • COVID-19 (booster included)
