Marc Milsten
International Marketing Regional Director
Hello, my name is Marc. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. At the age of 15, I had the opportunity to live with my relatives in a small town in Finland for 6 months. There, I attended the local school and had the first of many international experiences. I think living and studying abroad is the most amazing and life-changing thing someone can do.
Whenever I travel, I always love learning about the countries and cultures through conversations with people, watching local sports and eating great food. I've watched sumo and baseball in Japan, rugby and cricket in South Africa and played golf in Indonesia. As much as I love sports, I think I love food even more. I'm always in search of a great place to eat, and a new favorite dish. Some of my current favorites include Okonomiyaki, Boerewors, Biltong and Korvapuusti.
I attended Pacific Lutheran University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a minor in Political Science. In high school and university, I had the opportunity to study abroad a total of six times. After graduation, I continued to travel, and have now visited over 30 counties. My travels eventually took me to Japan, where I taught English in the Japanese public schools for 7 ½ years.
Returning from Japan to a career in International Education, my goal is to bring my passion for travel and education to the many students who are hoping to study at Green River College.
