A record breaking 800 plus students attended this year's Halloween Party at Green
River College!
According to Katie Hulshizer, the International Activities & Orientation Coordinator,
"This event’s success is thanks to the many student leaders and groups who collaborated
to bring it to life! The Indonesian Student Organization had an impressive two-story
haunted house built in mere hours; Math Club engaged attendees with a clever, puzzle-based
escape room; and the Dance Club dazzled the dance floor with a choreographed performance.
Resident Assistants from CCA managed a spooky photobooth in the Grand Hall. Meanwhile,
the River Room hosted numerous activities organized by Gator Activities Board, Latin
Student Union, and the Center for Transformational Wellness. Special thanks to Shota
Sekiguchi of our ISA team for his outstanding leadership in coordinating event logistics
and the collaborative planning and execution processes. Our team’s dedication and
hard work this year created an unforgettable event, and it showed — the 2024 Halloween
Party brought together a record-breaking 856 attendees (not counting professional
staff working the event)!
"The record attendance can also be attributed to the clear and detailed promotion plan led by International Student Ambassadors (ISAs) and fellow student leaders. Their efforts included tabling at various sites on campus, posting to social media, and creating numerous physical posters (many of which were hand drawn or painted) to be distributed all over campus in high-traffic and high-visibility areas.
"One of the most memorable highlights of my first GRC Halloween Party was the joy of seeing students make new connections while bonding over costumes, Halloween traditions, and activities featured within the event. The costume contest showcased the talent, humor, and creativity of our campus community!"
Until next year...Go Gators!
