Payment Plan

Budgeting for college can be a challenge.  Green River wants to help. That is why we offer an easy Payment Plan.

Third-Party Payments

If your tuition is being paid by a third-party (i.e. your employer, tribe, GET, 529 Plan, or outside tuition assistance program), you will need to notify the Cashier’s Office prior to the tuition due date.  Any vouchers or payment guarantees should be delivered to the Cashier’s Office by fax at 253-288-3432, email at cashiers@greenriver.edu, or in person during our normal business hours.

Foundation Scholarships

The Green River College Foundation offers over 275 scholarships each year.  Students who complete the online application
may be eligible for scholarships in the following categories: program based, merit based, need based, summer completion,
general scholarships and transfer scholarships.

Whether you are applying to Green River, or are already a student, we are committed to supporting undocumented students through the application process of accessing the resources available to help your pursue higher education.  Washington State provides a number of funding programs that help undocumented students succeed in their educational pursuits.

Funding for Career and Technical Education

Green River provides free and reduced tuition, fees, books and supplies for students who qualify for funding assistance.
Our funding programs serve those who:

  • Receive or have exhausted their unemployment benefits.
  • Have recently lost their jobs, ended self-employment or received notice of an impending layoff.
  • Qualify as low-income.
  • Receive food stamps or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
  • Are divorced, widowed or separated.
  • Need additional skills to retain or upgrade their jobs.

Tuition Assistance for Pre-College Programs

Green River provides a number of low-cost programs to help participants transition to college and build life skills. Our programs serve those who:

  • Did not graduate from high school.
  • Are interested in taking the General Educational Development exam or GED® preparation classes.
  • Want to earn their high school diploma and a college degree, at the same time.
  • Need to improve reading, writing or math skills to improve employment options.
  • Are speakers of other languages and want to improve their English language skills.

Funding Options for Military-Connected Students

We are committed to the success of student Veterans and their families. There are many options for applying military
education benefits to the cost of attending Green River. For more information, call Veteran Services at 253-833-9111, ext. 3452.

Eligible Veterans or National Guard Members may also be eligible for a 10% deduction off all credits of tuition per quarter.
Children and Spouses of disabled, POW/MIA or deceased eligible Veterans or National Guard Members may be eligible to
receive a complete waiver of tuition, including building and operating fees.
