This program in is a wonderful opportunity to live and study in the dynamic and beautiful country of Chile while learning about the geography, language and culture of this place. You will spend tiem in two cities: Valpraiso and Vina del Mar, Chile. You will live with a host family for the entire program, and enjoy program sponsored day trips and excursions, along with a full course load of Geology, Geography and Spanish language classes.

Academic Program:
This is a study program. Students must carry a 15-credit load and are expected to fully participate in all class activities. Three courses will be offered, and students must take all three. A 5-credit ciourse waiver may be available upon request for students with special circumstances. 

Application Requirements:

  • Must have completed at least 12 college credits.
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.  
  • Be at least 18 years old (17 year olds may be eligible with parent permission)

Program Dates: September 22-December 2, 2023

Application Deadline: June 2, 2023

 

Costs

Program Fee: Approx. $5,995

Tuition: $1,490 (GRC student rate)

Airfare: $1,200 (estimate). There is no group flight option. Students must purchase their own flights. We will provide access to a discounted flight portal which is optional to use. 

Books & Supplies: $200 (estimate)

Additional Costs: $950 (for food, transportation, laundry and incidentals. Extra activities or personal travel not included.)

 

Payment Deadlines

Deposit Deadline:  Within 1 week of your acceptance into the program ($1,035)

Payment 2: June 23, 2022 ($2,930)

Payment 3: August 8, 2023 ($2,930)

Tuition Due: September 5 ($1,490 for GRC students)

 

COVID-19 Update:

All students should expect to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to travel. Once a country is open to tourists, the status of a program still depends on your home college's travel policies related to COVID-19. 

Visa Information: 

Students traveling on WCCCSA-sponsored study abroad programs travel as tourists, and do not need a student visa. US Citizens are allowed to travel to most WCCCSA prigram locations for up to 90 days without a visa. However, international students may need to apply for a tourist visa for this program.
