About CAD-Design and Engineering Technology
In this program, you will learn how to use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create detailed drawings and 3D models. These designs are used to build everything from cars and airplanes to homes and bridges.
Students learn about engineering technology, which helps turn ideas into real things. This includes learning how things work, how to make them stronger, and how to fix problems.
In this program, students:
-
Use computers to design real-world projects
-
Work on hands-on activities and team projects
-
Learn how to read blueprints and technical drawings
-
Get ready for jobs in design, manufacturing, and engineering
This program has been discontinued as of June 2025.

Career Outlook
CAD Designers use special computer programs to create drawings and 3D models. These designs help build real things like cars, buildings, machines, and tools. Designers work closely with engineers, architects, and builders to turn ideas into real products.
What Can You Do With CAD Design?
With a CAD Design certificate or degree, you can work as a:
- CAD Technician – Makes 2D or 3D drawings for projects
- Mechanical Drafter – Designs parts for machines or tools
- Architectural Drafter – Draws building plans and layouts
- Civil Drafter – Helps design roads, bridges, or water systems
- Design Engineer Assistant – Supports engineers with models and plans
Where Can You Work?
You can work in:
- Engineering or architecture companies
- Construction or building design
- Manufacturing or factories
- Aerospace and automotive industries
- Government or city planning offices
Job Outlook
CAD design jobs are needed in many industries. As technology grows, more companies need skilled workers who can use design software. Students with strong computer and design skills will have good job chances.
