Computer-Aided Design and Drafting
Learn to create precise drawings and models of objects and structures in 2D and 3D. Work with engineers to design, visualize, and test models. The CAD AAS degree at GRC focuses on the computer-aided design of mechanical systems to support mechanical and industrial engineers. The degree will also allow you to enter the civil and electrical drafting fields with some additional training in industry-specific software.
Employment demand for CAD designers and drafters in Washington state is projected to remain strong. Local employers include Boeing, Amazon, Blue Origin, and many smaller companies working in the naval and marine industry, clean energy, construction, fabrication and manufacturing, and architecture. Green River College created the CAD Associate Degree program in response to the needs of local employers.
