NACDA Awards GRC Athletics Director 2025 AD of the Year!

​Green River College's Athletics Director, Shannon Percell, has been honored as one of the 28 recipients of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) 2024-25 Athletics Director of the Year Award. This prestigious accolade recognizes Percell's exceptional leadership and dedication to the college's athletic programs. 

The NACDA award spans seven divisions, including NCAA FBS, FCS, Division I-AAA, II, III, NAIA/Other Four-Year Institutions, and Junior College/Community Colleges. Percell is among four athletics directors honored in the Junior College/Community Colleges category. The award highlights the efforts of athletics directors at all levels for their commitment and positive contributions to student-athletes, campuses, and their surrounding communities. ​

NACDA Chief Executive Officer Pat Manak stated, "NACDA is proud to usher in a new class of Athletics Director of the Year Award winners for 2024-25 and recognize these servant leaders guiding their departments into a new age of intercollegiate athletics." He emphasized that the 28 individuals honored "represent their institutions, conferences, and the industry as a whole with a level of dedication and passion that shines through in their collective accomplishments." 

Percell's leadership at Green River College has significantly enhanced the athletic department's success, fostering an environment where student-athletes excel both academically and athletically. Her dedication to higher education and continuous teamwork has been instrumental in inspiring individuals and groups to achieve high levels of accomplishment.​

The award recipients will be formally recognized during the 60th Annual NACDA & Affiliates Convention at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida. The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, at 4 p.m., during the Association-Wide Featured Session. 

Green River College and the local community celebrate Percell's well-deserved recognition and look forward to continued success under her leadership.
