Nozima

Uzbekistan, SUSI 2017

Nozima held two women's empowerment workshops with college students at her university. She decided to include both males and females because the main idea was to help participants expand their outlook on women's leadership, and to empathize the roles of women and gender equality in Uzbek society.

Each session included teamwork activities, discussions on gender roles, examples of successful women in Uzbekistan and around the world, and inspirational videos on the role of women in the modern world, in the family, in politics and business, and their position in society. By the end of the second workshop, the participants gained a better understanding of the importance of women's empowerment and inspiration to take for further steps toward this goal.

All of the participants had an opportunity to practice public speaking. They also held an election of the most three active participants and awarded them with small prizes. Nozima was very satisfied with the result of the workshops and hopes to hold similar events again in the future!
