What to Expect at a Benefits Hub Appointment

  • The Benefits Hub does not provide direct financial/cash assistance.
  • Benefits Hub Coaches assist students in navigating financial challenges by connecting them with community and college resources that may be able to help.
  • Common resources we help students find include help with food, rent payment assistance, utility bill help and more. Coaches can also offer general guidance for financial aid and scholarship applications, as well as basic budgeting navigation.
  • It is always the student's responsibility to connect and follow up with the resources they are referred to.

Scheduling an Appointment

To schedule and appointment with a Benefits Hub coach in-person at Main Campus or Kent Campus, or a virtual appointment, please read through the "Important Information" section and then click on the button at the end of this page.

Important Information

Many of the services or resources the Benefits Hub can provide students are based on incoming donations, grant funding, or are restricted to specific student populations. Please read this section to make sure you know which resources may or may not be available.

Transportation

  • Students can book an appointment to sign up for ORCA Lift or complete the application on their own. Coaches will help with the application but cannot provide physical cards or load funds.
  • If approved, students are responsible for adding funds to their ORCA card.
  • Gas assistance is not available—BH does not offer referrals for gas-related resources.

Rental Assistance

  • The BH does not pay rent. Coaches provide referrals to organizations that offer rent assistance, but availability is limited, and support is not guaranteed due to high demand.
  • Many programs require students to be at least one month behind on rent and able to show financial stability for future payments.

Emergency Funding

  • Any GRC staff member can assist with the application—students are not required to make an appointment with the Benefits Hub to apply. Students can also complete the application on their own.
  • Appointments with the Benefits Hub are encouraged if students want help exploring other resources, outside of emergency funding.
  • Emergency funding is for unexpected and unavoidable emergencies, not reoccurring expense needs—not all applications are approved.
  • It is important to note this funding is not an entitlement just because someone is a GRC student.
  • Students completing multiple applications for the same emergency may result in a higher chance of denial.

Diaper Support

  • The CTW-Benefits Hub offers a maximum of 5 diapers per size each week
  • If a student needs more, a diaper resource guide with information about other sources in the community will be provided.

Services Available on a Donation Basis

Food (Gator Pantry)

  • The quantity and variety of food depends on the donations we receive.
  • While we do our best to keep the pantry stocked, it is not a reliable long-term resource.
  • Students are encouraged to use sustainable resources like the Auburn Food Bank for consistent food support.

Gas Cards

  • Gas cards are donation-based and may not always be available.
  • When available, they are provided only for emergency transportation needs.
  • This is not a resource to rely on or access regularly.

Clothing

  • A small clothing rack is available with donated items.
  • The types and quantity of clothing will vary depending on what is received.

Support Changes

Some services previously offered are no longer available due to funding changes:

  • On-campus childcare and childcare scholarships (CCAMPIS)
  • DoorDash grocery delivery
  • Physical ORCA cards
