Jessie Brugger: Fogbow
Tara Champion: Terraforming
January 9 2024 - February 22 2024
Artist Talk Date/Time
Artist talk and closing reception: February 22nd, 12 p.m.
Jessie Brugger: Fogbow is the title of a body of work by Jessie Brugger exploring the magical moments in the everyday. This body of work was created during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons of 2023 when my mother was going through cancer. I wanted to capture the importance of being present in every moment and finding the beauty in the time spent with loved ones.
Tara Champion: Terraforming - the hypothetical process of deliberately modifying a planet or moons’ atmosphere, volatile components, temperature, surface topography or ecology to make it habitable for Earth life.
This continued body of work by visual artist Tara Champion, searches to explain the connecting factors of identity and self-exploration when childhood trauma has walled off one’s past. The narrative of adoption being a positive solution for all involved is false. Through the rebuilding of their personal narrative this work strives to understand the difficult circumstances those who find themselves pregnant are placed in.
