Hotel and Travel Assistance for Visiting Families

If you or family members need assistance with hotel arrangements, please email Visitors Program Manager Tawnya McLavey at and she will be happy to help you with your reservation. At the beginning of each quarter, family members are also invited to join a special orientation. The family orientation includes meeting international programs staff, a campus tour, and a tour of the area around campus.

New Student Orientation

We are excited to welcome you to Green River. The purpose of new student orientation is to ensure your successful transition to the College and a successful integration to campus life. The program includes: academic assessment, course advising, course registration, campus tours, a trip to Seattle and an overnight recreation experience.

By attending orientation you will:

  • Have a comprehensive advising session
  • Complete a class schedule
  • Gain knowledge of student support services
  • Reduce anxiety about transition to collegiate life
  • Meet new friends
  • Learn the campus layout
  • Discover the local transportation system
  • Learn about college activities and involvement opportunities.
