Learning to Succeed in College

The two primary opportunities GRCC offers for international students to get prepared for the college environment are orientation and student success courses. The key word is offer. You must participate in orientation. Studies show that students who participate in orientation do better in their first quarter courses than students who do not participate in orientation. Get off to a great start by fully participating in orientation. Orientation consists of English and math skill assessment for class placement, advising to review major and select courses, class registration, a trip to Seattle and an overnight camping experience to meet and enjoy new friends and learn more about the College.

International Student College Experience is a special course designed for all new international students for academic success in college. You will gain essential information and practical skills that will help make your transition to GRCC and the USA as easy as possible.

In addition to orientation and College Experience, Green River Community College offers a Math Learning Center, A Writing Center, a Public Speaking Center and a Tutoring Resource Center. Student Success is our number one goal. Your success is our success... Be sure and discover all the centers for academic assistance.
