Green River: A Leader in Nationwide US University Transfer
Dean of International Programs, Wendy Stewart, poses with representatives from UC Berkeley and Rutgers University
On October 31st, 522 Green River international students attended a University Transfer Fair held on campus. One hundred and five universities from across the USA were available to provide students with information. Many students came to the fair with a transfer plan which was developed with their academic advisor. The students were able to check with university representatives on transfer plans, academic majors, housing opportunities and scholarships.
Eighteen of the universities were university pathway partners of GRCC which allows a student to receive a conditional admission letter from the university at the same time the student received a GRCC admission letter. University of California - Santa Barbara, University of California - Davis, University of Oregon and Washington State University were four of the university pathway partners attending the fair.
A primary reason international students choose Green River is the lower cost of tuition combined with the opportunity to choose from a large number of universities to complete their BA degree. Many students save enough money by attending Green River for two years that the price difference and saving pays for a student's junior year of tuition.
Nine of the Universities attending the fair rank in the top 100 universities of the world according to the highly respected Academic Ranking of World Universities:
- University of California - Berkeley
- University of California - San Diego
- University of California - Irvine
- University of California - Davis
- University of Colorado
- University of Washington
- University of Michigan
- University of British Columbia
- Arizona State University
There is no doubt that as a Green River Community College graduate - YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE!
