International Student Scholarships & Work Grants

Green River offers a variety of scholarships and work grants to international students. Scholarships are awarded as partial tuition waivers (reduction in tuition) and work grants are offered as paid, part-time on-campus jobs. Scholarships and work grants range from US $200 to $500+, depending on the type and duration of the award.

Leadership Work Grant: International Student Ambassador (ISA) Apprentice

*Student may earn up to $1,000 per quarter training in the on-campus leadership program.*

ISA Apprentice awards are work grants and may be one, two or three quarters in length depending on the terms of the award.

*A "new" student is one who has applied for admission but who has not yet attended classes full time at GRCC. Additional scholarships are available to current students.

**Scholarships and work grants are awarded based on maintaining a full-time course load at GRCC (12+ credits).

Scholarships are disbursed in one or three installments, depending on the award amount. The minimum award is $250 for one quarter; the maximum award is $1,500 disbursed equally over three quarters.

Leadership Work Grant: International Student Ambassadors

4 awards

April 10 (August start for full year position)

*CURRENT F-1 full time students at GRCC.

**Student will earn approximately $5,500 per year working in the campus leadership program up to 13 hours per week (40 hours during breaks) while a full-time student. Students begin 30 days prior to fall orientation and continue through the academic year.

Campus Work Grants

More than 45 annual placements

Ongoing: application deadline varies through the year and are dependent on position openings

*CURRENT F-1 full time students at GRCC with a minimum TOEFL score of 500 or academic placement

**Student will earn approximately $1500-$5,000 per year (over a period of three quarters) working on campus (up to 16/hours per week) while a full-time student.

Students may use their award for 3 quarters over one year, the first quarter of use being fall or spring quarter, whichever comes first.

Campus Community Service: Peer Volunteers

More than 20 each quarter

**Student serves as a peer helper at the quarterly new student orientation. Student receives training and invaluable experience working on a team.

Community Service: Volunteer Positions

*CURRENT F-1 full time students at GRCC.

**Student is provided community service opportunities. Student works alongside other international and domestic students and receives experience for use as future work reference or transfer university application. Student receives a Certificate of Achievement.

* A “current” student is one who has attended classes full time at GRCC.
