Nearly 50 years after its founding, Green River Community College continues to partner with local, regional, national and international communities, businesses, governments and non-profit organizations. Julie Otsuka

Artist & Speakers presents Julie Otsuka - Thursday, April 24, 2014

Julie Otsuka was awarded the Asian American Literary Award in 2003 for her novel, "When the Emperor Was Divine." Her story is a portrayal of a Japanese American family during the internment of WWII. USA Today called this book, "A gem of a book and one of the most vivid history lessons you will ever learn."

"When the Emperor Was Divine" is our One Book choice of 2013.
